Burning tips & safety guidlines

Candlelight always sets a cozy atmosphere, but please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our safety guidelines to fully enjoy our candles. To ensure safety during the burning of our candles, symbols indicating proper candle handling are displayed on our products. Please carefully examine each packaging for these symbols.

Conditions Before Burning the Candle
1. Before use, read the instructions.
2. Remove any packaging/sticker before lighting the candles.
3. Keep the wick clean, short, and straight (not longer than 1cm). Trim the wick if necessary before lighting the candle. If the candle smokes, soots, or produces a large flame, trim a small portion of the wick.

Positioning
1. Always place the candle in a non-flammable, suitable, and stable candle holder.
2. The candle should be burned in an upright and stable position. A tilted candle may smoke and drip.
3. Place burning candles at least 10 cm apart. If candles are too close, they may heat each other, causing dripping.
4. Do not place burning candles in an air draft, such as near a window, door, or walkway, as a draft can cause the candle to smoke and drip.
5. Never place a candle near flammable sources.
6. Avoid placing a candle near other heat and flammable sources, such as a TV, radiator/heater, or fireplace, as external heat sources can cause the candle to smoke and drip.
7. Never place a candle in direct sunlight and high temperatures. Excessive heat can cause the candle to melt, discolor, and drip.
8. A candle needs sufficient oxygen to burn well and must be able to release its heat. Choose the right-sized candle holder for burning.
9. Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.

Burning
1. Do not burn a candle for more than 3-4 hours continuously. Allow a burning candle to be extinguished for at least 1 hour every 3-4 hours.
2. Candles with a diameter of 10 cm or more must burn the first time until 1 cm from the outer edge of the candle has melted. This prevents the formation of 'tunnels,' ensuring the candle burns properly.
3. Trim the outer edge of the candle to a height of 1 cm after burning. This prevents the edge of the wax from becoming too high and dripping.
4. Never move a burning candle. Extinguish the candle first and wait until it has completely cooled. This prevents the risk of fire, paraffin spills, and imbalance of paraffin and wick.
5. Ventilate the room after burning candles.
6. Always exercise caution when burning candles. The product becomes hot. Do not touch!
7. Never leave candles unattended.

Preventing Pollution
1. Never place a burnt match or other flammable materials in the candle wax. This can cause a second flame, leading to incorrect burning, dripping, smoking, or even an explosion.
Extinguishing
1. Extinguish the candle at least 1 cm from the edge of the candle holder using a candle snuffer.
2. Never extinguish a candle with water. Water can cause hot wax to splatter.
3. Avoid inhaling the smoke directly after extinguishing the candle.

Always observe and heed the symbols which are partly indicated on the bottom of the candles or on packaging. This ensures that the candles are burned safely and responsibly.
